Why I still love Bobby Bowden
Today, Clemson football coach Tommy Bowden was fired. His father, the legendary FSU coach known as "Saint Bobby," had this to say in an interview:"He’s thankful for the experience he got there at Clemson,” Bobby Bowden said. “He has no hard feelings towards them. This is just the nature of this game right now. He’s disappointed but he’s got his priorities in order in his life so he’ll move on and won’t lose a minute of sleep over it.
At least I don’t have to worry about him beating me again.”
After all these years, you can't say he hasn't retained his tell-it-like-it-is nature or his sense of humor.

St. Bobby The Prophet
Once Bobby was recruiting at an prospects home the week after son Terry, then coach of Auburn, visited. The recruit told Bobby, "your son told me you were probably going to retire". Bobby replied "I'll be at FSU a heck of a lot longer than Terry will be at Auburn".
Turned out to be true.
I have laughed for years at Alabama fans who said Bowden was too old to replace Bear Bryant.
That was 1984 and about 5 coaches ago.
Suckers.
