Mood Music: they always come back edition
Late last year, I briefly dated a guy who was a first year law student. (No I'm not a cradle-robber...he was a year younger than me.) Initially things started fantastically well, but before long he started being weird and I sort of wrote him off. The last time we went out ended quite terribly, and in November I basically told him there was no need for us to see each other further.
About a month ago, he started emailing me out of the blue. I responded tersely for awhile and then stopped responding. Now he's emailing again and being more persistent in his efforts to reestablish contact. All I can say is...well, this song sums it up quite nicely. This one's for you, Jason.
My friend Samantha used to say "they always come back." Every guy who dumped her or who she broke up with, whether it was the one she wept over for days and days or the one she shrugged off and moved on from in the course of a weekend, would eventually come back around and try to take another stab at it. I used to think it was a phenomenon unique to Samantha, but as this law student and my ever-persistent ex-boyfriend (who still emails me out of the blue every few months with his deep thoughts for where we went wrong...nearly 7 years ago) are showing me, they do always come back at some point. And usually when you don't want anything to do with them.
