Eek

Less than two weeks from their first game of the season, FSU will likely name their starting quarterback today. Even though I know it's probably going to be Drew Weatherford again (ugh), hope still springs eternal.

It's not about football, but I don't have any other way to say this to you. Don't buy a car, lease one. I took out my first lease about 10 years ago and if I can help it I'll never buy again. Buy things that appreciate, lease things that don't.

Good luck.

Oh, and Roll Tide.

My current car was a lease before I bought it out, and I don't want to lease anymore. I could go into the reasons why not, but basically it just doesn't make sense for me. I don't want to worry about mileage, or to have to insure it with all the rules that a lease imposes, and I want to have an actual asset. Also, VWs don't depreciate nearly as quickly as some other cars so that is less of a concern.

I am doing a 4 year traditional auto loan and when I'm done I want to own the thing outright.

OK--but in 4 years you'll own piece of shit :-) Anyway--it so happens I also have a Passat, but a 2004. I love mine--never a minute's trouble. But, isn't yours still under warranty? 4 years, 48000 miles? Take it and make them fix all that crap. Meanwhile, I'll look at the Eos specs and give you my opinion, for what it's worth.

You're right, I thought it was 4 years/40,000 miles because they urged me to get a whole bunch of service in January right before I hit 40,000 miles. Strange. Guess that means I can get the A/C fixed and have them figure out WTF is wrong with my brakes now before I sell it.

Thanks for the advice on the Eos and in particular the 2.0 vs. 3.2 issue. I'm still going to go test drive them this weekend.
