Playlist perfection

Recently I finally got the tape deck in my car stereo fixed, which means I listen to my ipod in the car again. (FM transmitters not being a viable option in Atlanta, and having a car just old enough that it doesn't have an ipod input, the tape converter is the only real option.) I never really use the ipod anymore otherwise, and after my computer died last fall I hadn't figured out how to get ahold of the mountain of downloaded music I had saved in iTunes. So getting back the ability to use my ipod (and finally figuring out how to pull the files off of it and into iTunes on my new computer) has been very, very cool.

For the past few days, I've been putting it on shuffle and just listening to what wondrous songs come out, things I haven't listened to in ages. That's where much of the "drive music" and other music posts have been coming from lately. And today I couldn't pick just one song from my morning drive so I'm giving you links to all 3:

Watch Me Walk Away, Lorrie Morgan
(This video is a total cheesefest even if it does feature Slider. But, this is my karaoke song if I ever get up the nerve to do karaoke again.)

Jackson, Johnny Cash and June Carter

Sleep to Dream, Fiona Apple

It was a somewhat angry but fun sing-at-the-top-of-your-lungs drive to work for me this morning.
