Huh, I got a raise

I didn't know I was getting a raise, but I did. I guess it took effect at the first of the year. Big law firms don't do individualized raises for associates, they are in "lockstep" for all associates based on how many years they have been out of law school. So, as you graduate to a new level (4th year, 5th year, 6th year) your salary automatically goes up along with everyone else in your class year. I guess I moved up to 7th year associate as of 1/1. It's only a couple hundred dollars more every paycheck so hardly life-altering, but I'm happy. Particularly since I wasn't expecting it!
